Sage Mortgage, a subsidiary of Red Ventures, is seeking an Internal Audit Associate. The Internal Audit Team Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of internal processes within our fast-paced mortgage company. Working as part of the internal audit team, the associate will be responsible for examining and evaluating the company's operations, risk management procedures, and internal controls. This position requires a strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to identify areas of improvement and implement best practices.
The Internal Audit Team Associate will report directly to the Vice President of Finance and Analytics and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. They will also be responsible for measuring performance and trends in the inputs and outputs of all mortgage business functions.
This role is expected to operate out of our south Charlotte, NC area office on a hybrid schedule (Tuesday through Thursday in office).
What You'll Do:
- Review performance and trends: Analyze the inputs and outputs of all mortgage business functions, especially in borrower-facing interactions, and present findings to stakeholders. Review metrics, key performance indicators, and data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas of improvement.
- Compliance monitoring: Listen to calls and scoring for compliance with company policies, procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as those set by regulatory authorities (e.g., Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) and mortgage lending entities (e.g., Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac). Create coaching documentation for managers to use and deliver findings and trends to the Chief Compliance Officer and other stakeholders through graphics, analyses, and presentations you will create.
- Analyze customer satisfaction data: Compile and analyze customer feedback data to find areas for improvement. Identify key drivers of satisfaction or dissatisfaction and present your findings to the team.
- Perform quality audits: Conduct regular quality audits to evaluate adherence to established procedures, standards, and best practices. Review documentation, processes, and outputs to identify gaps, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
- Identify process improvement opportunities: Analyze data, feedback, and performance metrics to identify specific process improvement opportunities. Look for areas that can be addressed by adding, changing, or removing steps in existing processes that optimize workflows, enhance productivity, and improve overall performance.

- Experience in internal audit, risk management, or compliance
- Familiarity with the mortgage industry and its regulations
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Understanding of statistical sampling methods and basic research principles

Compensation
- Cash Compensation Range: $65,000-$85,000
*Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
